What are the Common Endometriosis Causes?

by | Jan 16, 2013 | Health

Many women are diagnosed with endometriosis around the world. It is a condition that can cause infertility problems in women. Endometriosis causes aren’t truly known, but there are some speculations on what could cause it. A lot has been learned about the symptoms of endometriosis and how to treat it. It’s possible that it could be a combination of factors that are the cause or it could be just one single factor. Like with most medical conditions, each individual is different.

Genetics Linked to Endometriosis

The human genome is commonly looked into when searching for answers behind unknown diseases. When it comes to endometriosis causes, it is believed that your genes play a role in this condition forming. It’s been noted that there is an increased chance of women getting endometriosis if they have a close relative who has had the disorder as well.

The Environment and Endometriosis

The environment has also been known as being one of the factors for endometriosis causes. With pollution on the rise in industrialized countries around the globe, it’s not a surprise that women are being poisoned and facing problems with fertility. It is believed that pollutants like mercury, lead and other heavy metals that are commonly found in the atmosphere and water that we drink could be linked to endometriosis. Then there are other hazardous chemicals in the environment that could be linked to this disorder.

When the body receives too many hostile attacks, it can weaken your immune system. When this happens, your organs don’t function as they should, which means that your body will start to break down. Endometriosis could be caused by a woman’s body having an auto-immune reaction to infectious bacteria that has entered her body. Women who have this condition should exercise regularly to help boost their immune system. This should also be combined with a nutritiously balanced diet.

Too Much Estrogen is Not Good

Estrogen is what differentiates a woman from a man and allows her to have children. But if too much of it is being pumped into your body, it could cause hormonal imbalances that can lead to endometriosis. Tie this in with other possible factors and these could be the causes of your endometriosis.

The above endometriosis causes are only theories. If you are struggling with endometriosis, you should go to your physician and have a biopsy done to help find the cause.
