When most people think of an elder care center, they likely picture a group of elderly people sitting around watching television or chatting with one another. Breakfast

Breakfast is served at 7:00 am sharp each morning. All the residents sit together in the dining room and enjoy a hot meal. There is always a variety of food to choose from, including eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, fruit, juice, and coffee.

Morning Exercise Routine

After breakfast, it’s time for exercise! The residents gather in the activity room and participate in a light workout led by one of the staff members. The workout includes stretching, light aerobics, and some strength-training exercises with resistance bands.

Arts and Crafts

After the morning exercise routine, it’s time for arts & crafts! The residents gather around tables set up in the activity room and work on various craft projects. Some of the recent projects have included making greeting cards and painting birdhouses.

Lunchtime

Lunch is served buffet style in the dining room at 11:30 am. There is always a variety of food to choose from, including sandwiches, salads, soups, fruit, and dessert. After lunch, many of the residents take a leisurely stroll around the grounds before returning to their rooms for a brief rest.

Movie Time!

It’s movie time! The residents gather in the activity room to watch a classic film on the big screen TV. Popcorn and snacks are provided. Some popular movies have included “The Sound of Music” and “Gone with the Wind.”

Snack Time

A light snack is served in the dining room at 4:00 pm each afternoon. This gives everyone a little boost of energy to make it through the rest of the day. Some popular snacks have included frozen grapes, carrot sticks with ranch dressing dip, and graham crackers with chocolate chips.

Dinner Time

Dinner is served buffet style in the dining room at 6:00 pm each evening. There is always a variety of food to choose from so that everyone can find something they like. After dinner, many of the residents socialize in the common area or return to their rooms to read or watch TV before bedtime.

Bedtime

is 9:30 pm each evening. However, there is always someone on staff available at the elder care center in Minneapolis, MN if anyone needs assistance during the night.
